Alresford Preview

We will be one of the first Societies to play Alresford following the completion of their £3/4milllion Clubhouse refurbishment which includes the Bar and Dining Room and an extension to the patio area. The whole package is wrapped up with the appointment of a new team of caterers.

A free-draining chalk downland course, rarely closed and ideal for year-round play. Easy walking and set on the slopes of Tichborne Down which provides for picturesque views of the Hampshire countryside. The five tricky par 3s and narrow fairways ensure that the course is always a challenge. Stray too far from the fairway and find that your approach shots to the small and well-guarded greens are a test of distance and accuracy. The course has an ever-growing reputation for overall quality and presentation and the greens are slick, true and amongst the best in Hampshire.

North Hants Preview

This is your President’s Day and will consist of a ‘Three Man Team’ Event. If you are unable to raise a Team please enter and the Competition Secretary will assign you to a Team
.
The club was originally founded in 1904 and James Braid, the designer, described the course as, "most sporting and interesting". In 1913, the course was re-shaped by Harry Colt for the princely sum of £25 and in the 1930s, Tom Simpson made further modifications.

Following Donald Steel's modifications to three holes in 2001, today's course now measures 6,472 yards. Although it's not the longest course, it does represent is a real challenge and will provide, once again, a fun day of golf.
